Acupuncture is a practice of inserting needles into various points throughout the body. It is a practice based in China that began over 2,000 years ago. It has been known to prevent, diagnose and treat disease, as well as promote overall well-being. The points used are located on  channels known as meridians, and these meridians govern the flow of energy (known as qi) throughout the body.

With anti-aging or cosmetic acupuncture, the acupuncturist will insert 40-79 tiny and painless needles on the face. When these needles are inserted into the face, positive micro traumas result. These micro traumas cause the body to start a natural repair process, re-generating skin tissue. It is the same idea as micro needling, however cosmetic acupuncture uses less needles. These small punctures also stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory system, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to the surface of the skin. This promotes the anti-aging effects by evening out complexion and creating a glow. These punctures also help stimulate collagen production, which improves the elasticity of the skin.

A minimum of 6-8 sessions weekly is recommended for optimal results.
